Martial Law in the Philippines

Martial Law declared in the Philippines! See the link below for the whole story... This has happened before in America (Civil War/War of Northern Aggression) and could happen again (google: Northcom, FEMA Camps, etc)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8396627.stm

"President Gloria Arroyo has imposed martial law in the Philippines province of Maguindanao after the election-related massacre of 57 people."
"It is the first time martial law has been used in the country since the fall of autocrat Ferdinand Marcos in 1986."

"Among those taken into custody were Andal Ampatuan Sr, a powerful local official, and one of his sons, Zaldy - governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, which includes Maguindanao"

"Another son, Andal Ampatuan Jr, has been charged with 25 counts of murder and has so far been the main suspect in the case."

"The favourite for next year's presidential elections, Senator Benigno Aquino, was quoted as opposing the move."

"We believe there's no basis for the implementation of martial law," he said.

"Local mayor Andal Ampatuan Jr faces 25 counts of murder"

Hi, my name is Steve. I'm from East Tennessee (Erwin) but now I live in the Philippines. My wife is Filipino. We live in Mindanao in Davao city. The Ampatuan family owns property here and all their children attend school here. There was worry here for a couple of days because Andal was taken to the hospital here where he was arrested, after 2 days I might add. There were armed guards everywhere. Andal was finally whisked off to Manila after dark a couple days ago. There are road blocks, and anyone from that region are not allowed to come into town. My wife owns a small store in downtown Davao city and buys rice for the store from Maguindanao. Unless something happens they will allow the delivery trucks to come in here.
