Obamacare, Gubment Motors, and now Obamanews

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0709/24441.html

"For $25,000 to $250,000, The Washington Post is offering lobbyists and association executives off-the-record, nonconfrontational access to "those powerful few" — Obama administration officials, members of Congress, and the paper’s own reporters and editors"

Really?!?
And then this yesterday...

"...veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas told CNSNews.com that not even Richard Nixon tried to control the press the way President Obama is trying to control the press."

"“What the hell do they think we are, puppets?” Thomas said. “They’re supposed to stay out of our business. They are our public servants. We pay them.”"

Attempt to Silence Free Speech

http://www.prisonplanet.com/murdoch-ceo-labels-bloggers-political-extremists.html

"A stinging attack by John Hartigan, the CEO of Rupert Murdoch’s News Limited, labels bloggers and alternative media outlets as “political extremists”. Hartigan implies that bloggers should be jailed as they are in oppressive police states like China and Burma.

In a speech to the National Press Club, Hartigan savagely dismissed blogs as, “Something of such little intellectual value as to be barely discernible from massive ignorance.”"

Big Brothers wants to regulate Bloggers...

here's the link with some quotes from the article...seems like this is the first step towards American Internet Censorship ...similiar to China's censorship of Internet
http://republicbroadcasting.org/?p=2704

"The practice has grown to the degree that the Federal Trade Commission is paying attention. New guidelines, expected to be approved late this summer with possible modifications, would clarify that the agency can go after bloggers — as well as the companies that compensate them — for any false claims or failure to disclose conflicts of interest."

“Rules are set by the individuals who create the blog,” said Lee Rainie, director of the Pew Internet and American Life Project. “Some people will accept payments and free gifts, and some people won’t. There’s no established norm yet.”

Bloggers complain that with FTC oversight, they’d be too worried about innocent posts getting them in trouble, and they say they might simply quit or post less frequently."

PS- I make no money off of this site...I have chosen not to monetize my blog for various reasons...but this site exists as a place to store links/videos/ and observations in the hopes that it will inspire someone else to stand up for our basic American Rights as outlined in the Constitution...
