Tennessee Swine Flu News
Cumberland University which is located in Lebanon, TN is requiring it's Nursing Students to take the Swine Flu Vaccine IF they would like to attend Clinicals. They are allowed to refuse it but then cannot attend Clinicals which would then cause them to fail the semester and subsequently be kicked out of the Nursing Program...
Vanderbilt Hospital is having a difficult time recruiting volunteers to take the trial Swine Flu vaccine..recently the $350 compensation was raised to an undisclosed amount...Also Vanderbilt is having a difficult time finding Parents who would allow their children to be experiments...
Here is what hospital personnell have observed so far about the Swine Flu:
1) The severe symptoms only last 24-48 hours and it comes on suddenly...Common symptoms are bodyaches, fever, non productive cough, and sore throat.
2) Patients tend to get better without any medical intervention besides comfort measures..such as: Tylenol, Ibuprofen, increased fluids such as Gatorade, and rest.
